Maintanence of your Solar pump

Maintenance of any pump is an intergral to a long life.

The pumps are made up of a small amount of moving parts - Impellor, Impellor shaft, shaft bungs, Impellor cover

Brushless Pumps used for Solar pumps

The pumps are made up of a small amount of moving parts:

  • Pump
  • Impellor Cover
  • Impellor
  • Impellor shaft
  • Shaft bungs

Impellors are consumble products and do wear out so maintenance will extend the life of these part considerably.

Debris, fibres, plant roots and even pet hair can get caught in the impellor or impeller shaft constricting movement or stopping the impellor.

In some cases small stones can stop the impellor turning and breaking the shaft.

In this photo the shaft (white stick like part) is made from ceramic - a very strong and durable option, only easily broken if twisted or bent.

Some impellors are made from stainless steel, again a great option but it is prone to wearing away over time.

If your pump stops this would be the first place to check...

All the Solar products we sell have a Information sheet with detailed instructions and photos how to change an impellor.

If this has been misplaced we have put together a few step-by-step options that may help.
